Man keeps a giant pearl under his bed for good luck, has no idea it’s worth $100 million dollars

An unidentified man from Palawan Island, Philippines has unvieled his incredible ocean find after a whopping ten years.

When the fisherman first came across the enormous, record breaking pearl, he kept it under his bed for good luck.

Unaware that the pearl was infact five times larger than what was considered to be the worlds largest pearl, the fisherman was in for a massive surprise when he discovered the pearl was worth an estimated 100 million dollars.

This record shattering find weighed in at a whopping 34 kilograms and is 1 foot wide and 2.2 feet long.

The previous record-holding pearl was called the “Pearl of Allah,” and it was only 6.4 kilograms. Despite the much smaller size of this pearl, it was still able to fetch an incredible 35 million dollars.

The “Pearl of Allah” was also found in the Philippines in 1934 off the coast of Palawan, but currently resides in the New York Ripley’s Believe It or Not! museum.

The fisherman discovered the enormous clam shell when his anchor got caught in it. Forced to swim down to bring the anchor to surface, the fisherman brought along the massive shell as well as a prize, unaware of the fortune it contained inside.

Not knowing the incredibly high worth of this pearl, the fisherman perserved it under his bed where it remained a good luck charm for over 10 years.

Named the Peurto Princesca, the giant pearl will be retained in the Philippines with hopes of it becoming the next big tourist attraction.

Philippino tourism officer Aileen Cynthia Amurao is hoping to find an expert gemologist in order to authenticate this incredible find.

With high hopes that this enormous pearl can reignite the tourism industry in the Phillipines, Philippino residents continue to hold that world record spot for largest natural pearl with the newly uncovered Peurto Princesca.
