Need Help: Cruel Owner Wanted Nothing To Do Anymore With Rare Shepherd, So He DUMPED Her at High Kill Shelter

A rare looking German shepherd pup is facing the fight of her life after her cruel owner dumped her at the high-kill Kern County Animal Services facility located in Bakersfield, California. The dog, who is named Missy, was surrendered to the shelter on September 17 and is fresh into her kennel run. In spite of the chaos, noise, and confusion of shelter life, she is trying hard to stay hopeful.

According to an anonymous source at the shelter, her owner wasn’t too forthcoming about why he was surrendering the pup, just telling staff, “I want nothing to do with her anymore.”

Missy’s exotic appearance has drawn interest by breed revelers on social media, however, thus far there have been no serious takers. Popular dog information site Dog Breed Info explains the breeds temperament in this excerpt saying:

“Often used as working dogs, Panda Shepherds are courageous, keen, alert and fearless. Cheerful, obedient eager to learn, tranquil, confident, serious and clever, Panda Shepherds are extremely faithful and brave.

They will not think twice about giving their lives for their human pack. They have a high learning ability. Panda Shepherds love to be close to their families, but can be wary of strangers. This breed needs his people and should not be left isolated for long periods of time. “

A Petharbor listing for the dog reads,

“My name is MISSY. I am a female, tricolor Shepherd mix.The shelter staff thinks I am about 2 years old. I have been at the shelter since Sep 17, 2016.

If you or someone you know is interested in giving this precious pup the forever home she rightfully deserves, please call the Kern County Animal Services facility at (661) 868-7100 and reference the shelter ID #A1038115. Additionally, please share this story on Facebook or Twitter so we are closer to finding this precious pup the forever home she rightfully deserves. We have done it before and can certainly do it again.
