According to the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office, Steven Brown, 24 has been arrested and charged with felony animal cruelty after he willfully neglected his two dogs during a house fire. Authorities say that Brown, a known drug dealer, was manufacturing the highly flammable butane hash oil (BHO), when an explosion went off in his home while two of his dogs were locked in a crate.
Brown was then alleged to have vacated his property, not before searching through his burning house to save a stash of drugs he kept hidden in a secret compartment. According to Authorities, he purposely left his two dogs in their crates as he fled the burning home. Unfortunately, the dogs are said to have perished in the fire.
Police put out an arrest warrant for Brown, after he fled the scene and have charged him with 12 felonies which include: manufacturing a controlled substance, first degree arson, felony possession of a firearm, cocaine possession, suboxone possession, oxycodone possession, tampering with physical evidence, marijuana manufacturing, marijuana possession, aggravated cruelty to animals and possession of drug paraphernalia.
