Shelter Staff Fear That Young Lab Too Afraid To Move, Might Might Be “Killed For Fear “

Life at the high kill Downey Animal Animal Care Center is no fun to say and write the least. No matter how much shelter staff love the dogs that come in through the door, the simple matter of fact is that if they can not find homes, they are moved to the back, and euthanized. One such dog facing this very real fate doesn’t have a name or any definitive background. She is a mystery.

Sal Valdepena a volunteer with the Downey Animal Care Center took to his Facebook page to write,

“Terrified dog will not move. She will likely be killed for fear.”

Dogs are intuitive, as well as smart and they know everything that is going on. This pup is so terrified of her circumstance that all she does is tuck herself away in a corner, and cowers in fear. A Pet Harbor listing for this pup reads,

“I don’t have a name yet and I’m an approximately 1 year old female Labrador retriever. I am not yet spayed. I have been at the Downey Animal Care Center since August 30, 2016. I am available on September 3, 2016. You can visit me at my temporary home at DCLINIC.”

If you or someone you know is interested in giving this pup the forever home she rightfully deserves, please contact the Downey Animal Care Center (562) 940-6898 and reference the shelter ID #A4988334. Additionally, please share this story on Facebook or Twitter so we are closer to finding this precious pup the forever home she rightfully deserves. We have done it before, and can certainly do it again.
