Quenton Eugene Mathis, 26, from Headland, Alabama was sentenced to six years in jail for starving his six dogs to which resulted in cannibalism when one of the dogs attacked another for food. This past week, Mathis pleaded guilty to six charges of animal cruelty
Last December, authorities from Henry County went to the house where he and his wife, Ashley Nicole Mathis’ lived to take custody of their four-year-old son. At the time, they noticed four pit bulls tied to trees with heavy chains. While inside the home, they found a healthy dog and a half-eaten carcass of another dog.
The couple had moved out of the home three weeks earlier and left the dogs behind. The couple was found living with relatives nearby. Larry Anderson, the Circuit Court Judge, sentenced Mathis to one year in prison. A probation hearing will be held in November for Mathis. Share away, people.
