Speak UP! They Can't

Depressed 13-Year-Old, Howls In a Corner All Day Hoping Someone Might Take a Chance on Him, Senior Pup Surrendered To Kill Shelter

For 13 years, this senior pup showed nothing but loyalty to an owner who absolutely adored him. Unfortunately, his owner died and so his next to kin surrendered him to a kill shelter where he now awaits an uncertain future. The dog, who is absolutely heartbroken, now spends his days howling in a corner hoping someone special might take a chance on him.

On Sunday afternoon, the Front Street Shelter, a City of Sacramento funded shelter, took to their Facebook page imploring the public for help saying,

“Scooby arrived at Front Street after his owner of thirteen years passed away unexpectedly. Every day Scooby has been waiting by the kennel door eager to see if his best friend will return.”

Shelter staff say that when Scooby hears footsteps, he inches close to his kennel expecting to see his owner, only to be disappointed. Instead of basking in the arms of his former owner, with all the toys and treats a dog could ask for, he makes a cold concrete slab his bed, where the tears flow endlessly. This is a sad case and only you can make things better for Scooby.

If you or someone you know is interested in giving Scooby the forever home he rightfully deserves, please call the Front Street Shelter at 916-264-5011, and reference the shelter ID #A508803. Additionally, please share this story on Facebook or Twitter, so we are closer to finding Scooby the forever family he rightfully deserves. We have done it before, and can certainly do it again.
