Friendly Pup Surrendered To Kill Shelter Because Family Was “Too Busy” Starting To Shut Down

Source: Carson Animal Shelter

At the high kill Carson Animal Shelter, hope is as scarce as water in the desert. If you don’t believe me just ask a dog named Snoopy and he will tell you all about it. In the chaos and confusion of shelter life, the once energetic dog who used to rush to the front of his kennel to greet people is now just a shadow of his former self. Shelter staff loved the energy he used to display so they got him a few toys that he played with endlessly.

Today, you can often see Snoopy tucked away in the corner of his kennel space, oblivious to the world around him. For comfort, he turns to a cold concrete slab that also doubles as his bed. The tears continue to flow from his face as hope is running out and running out fast. Being a staff favorite at the Carson Animal Shelter does not guarantee life. As much as staff try and help the endless dogs they come across every day, they are confronted with a tough choice of euthanization to free up kennel space. Snoopy, unfortunately, is no exception.

A Petharbor listing for Snoopy reads,

“My name is Snoopy and I am described as a neutered male, white and gray Pit Bull Terrier. The shelter thinks I am about 11 months old. I have been at the shelter since Oct 12, 2016.”

If you or someone you know is interested in giving Snoopy the forever home he rightfully deserves, please contact the Los Angeles County Animal Control – Carson at (310) 523-9566, and reference the shelter ID #A5001864. Additionally, please share this story on Facebook or Twitter so we are closer to finding Snoopy the forever home he deserves. We have done it before and can certainly do it again.
