Shelter staff at the high kill Carson Animal services gush when they talk about Gordon, the magnanimous larger then life personality of the two year old German shepherd pup, who has become a staff favorite in the little time they got to know him. Unfortunately for Gordon, his owner couldn’t see what staff see in him, because he cold heartedly dumped him at Carson with the knowledge that the poor pup could be put down.
At his age, Gordon should be enjoying life playing with his toys, and lounging on a nice comfortable doggie bed awaiting his next adventure. Instead, he now makes a cold concrete slab his only solace from the pain. Gordon has begun to shut down, all thanks to the chaos and confusion of shelter life at Carson. The once jovial and upbeat dog whose smile could light up a room, tucks himself away in a corner grappling with profound sadness.
For Gordon, relief would be a one way ticket out of the Carson Shelter, where he could begin a life anew and never have to look back. Unfortunately, there are no more tears left for Gordon to cry because for now, he will have to settle for the reality that he might just be days away from euthanasia.
A Petharbor listing for Gordon reads,
“My name is GORDON and I’m an approximately 2 year old male German Shepherd. I am not yet neutered. I have been at the Carson Animal Care Center since 10/21. You can visit me at my temporary home at C239.”
If you or someone you know is interested in giving this precious pup the forever home he rightfully deserves, please call the Carson Animal shelter at 310-523-9566 and reference the shelter ID #A5004681.
