On Tuesday, while America was voting for its next President to lead this great nation of ours, an eight-year-old senior pup by the name of Brock was surrendered to the Miami-Dade Animal Services (MDAS), where his life was about to be flipped upside down. According to shelter sources, his owners surrendered him to the shelter with ‘no reason provided’, only offering the depressed pup one consolation: his toys.
That’s right, Brocks owners surrendered him to a high kill shelter where he awaits a glib fate with only his toys to offer him solace from the pain that is burning inside of him. Brock has the unenviable task of trying to make sense of this stunning betrayal after years of loyalty. Life at MDAS is no cakewalk to say and write the least. Dogs are given just days to find homes before they are brought to the back room or ‘death row’ as volunteers call it, where they are put down. The shelter, which is struggling with overcrowding, is forced to make very difficult decisions on a daily basis, as they struggle to free up kennel space. That means that dogs like Brock need nothing shorter than a miracle to make it out alive.
A Petharbor listing for Brock reads,
“I am an unaltered male, black and brown Rottweiler. The shelter staff thinks I am about 8 years old. I have been at the shelter since Nov 08, 2016.”
If you or someone you know is interested in giving Brock the forever family he rightfully deserves, please call the Miami-Dade Animal Services at (305) 884-1101, and reference the shelter ID #A1828423. Additionally, please share this story on Facebook or Twitter, so we are closer to finding Brock a home. We have done it before and can certainly do it again.
