Life at the Carson Animal Shelter in California is no cake walk to say and write the least. Dog’s are given just days, and if they are lucky a few weeks to find forever homes before they are placed on death row, and given formal execution dates. Carson, a city-funded shelter, is grappling with overcrowding and so more often times than not, hard decisions need to be made to free up kennel space. One dog who knows all about the politics of the high kill shelter is an adorable 1-year-old Shepherd mix, who in spite of the grim fate that awaits, still manages to smile.
A kill shelter is no place for a dog as precious as this pup with no name, who at her tender age should be playing with her toys and lounging on a dog bed. Instead, she makes a cold concrete slab the only place to offer her solace through this pain.
A Petharbor listing for her reads,
“I am described as a female, red German Shepherd Dog and Rottweiler. The shelter thinks I am about 1 year and 6 months old. I have been at the shelter since Nov 10, 2016.”
If you or someone you know is interested in giving this adorable pup the forever home she rightfully deserves, please call the Los Angeles County Animal Control – Carson at (310) 523-9566 and reference the shelter ID #A5010802. Additionally, please share this story on Facebook or Twitter so we are closer to finding a home for her. We have done it before and can certainly do it again.
