A stray German shepherd pup was brought to the Carson Animal shelter on November 6, in the most critical condition after she was severely injured in a car accident. The pup, whose name is Skye, suffered a broken jaw and quite literally came in limping into Carson. Thankfully, Skye survived her ordeal, however, she is left fighting for her life all over again, because at Carson every dog has an expiration date.
The shelter, which is grappling with overcrowding, has to make what they call ‘tough decisions’ for dogs who can’t find homes in time. That mean’s euthanasia, and so if Skye doesn’t find a home soon, she will become another casualty of the Los Angeles, California-based Carson Animal Shelter.
A Petharbor listing for Skye reads,
“My name is SKYE and I’m an approximately 6-year-old female German Shepherd. I am not yet spayed. I have been at the Carson Animal Care Center since 11/12.”
Life for any dog trapped in a kennel is simply no life at all. Skye, as we speak, should be lounging on a dog bed enjoying her toys and eating treats. Instead, she makes a cold concrete slab her only solace where the tears stream endlessly.
If you or someone you know is interested in giving this precious pup the forever home she rightfully deserves, please call the Carson Animal Care Center at 310.523.9566 and reference the shelter ID #A5011372. The shelter is located at 216 Victoria Street in Gardena, California. Additionally, please share this story on Facebook or Twitter so we are closer to finding Skye a forever home. We have done it before and can certainly do it again.
