Last week, I brought you a heartbreaking story of a street dog named Pascal from Istanbul, Turkey, who was drowned in a pool of glue by a group of school-aged children who acted “just for the fun of it.” Pascal was eventually rescued by He’Art of Rescue, who went to work right away removing strands of dirt and grime that collected and stuck to his coat due to the glue. Thankfully, Pascal is doing well and is showing signs of life. He is now able to stand up on his own and has had most of the glue removed from his coat. He’Art of Rescue took to their Facebook page to announce the good news in a post saying,
“After the glue has been removed, he stood in shock for one day. He was even turning his back to hide when he sees people. Since yesterday he is doing better, slowly getting used to the staff in the clinic, of course, love is being poured to him. He especially bonded with one of the doctors who is in charge of him, Hasan Akin. They are best buddies. We know his soul will mend in time and the adoptive family will play a major role in this. Our medical team is doing everything for him.”
As for the children who committed this awful crime, it has yet to be determined if all were caught, or if they will be punished for the horrible misdeed they did to a young voiceless stray dog who was just scavenging for food on the streets to survive. Either way, Pascal has gained a following on social media after our story of him went viral, and has some 30,000 plus followers on Facebook, tracking his every progress.
Pascal, who didn’t have an appetite once before because of the pain, is now eating three times a day According to He-Art of a Rescue. Additionally, he is starting to respond to medication to help with the easing of the swelling that his coat endured because of the chemicals found in the glue. The shelter He’art of Rescue continues,
“Baby Pascal is recovering very fast; he has a big appetite and eats three times a day but he also developed an allergic reaction due to all the chemicals his skin absorbed. Our doctors are attending it and drawing a very delicate treatment plan for his fragile puppy metabolism. Meanwhile, Pascal’s broken spirit is being attended too; cuddling time , spoiling , TLC … We will continue doing whatever is required to mend everything that fell apart in him.“
