On October 26, while most of us were stocking up on candy and searching for costumes for Halloween weekend, a young dog by the name of Kianna was dumped at the high kill Los Angeles county based Baldwin Park Animal Services. Kianna, who is only 1 years old, is struggling to make sense out of why she is there and for what reason.
To be blunt, the Baldwin Park Animal Services is a place that is not filled with hope. Dogs are placed in barren kennels with nothing more than a concrete slab to lay their weary heads. This is not a life for any dog to be living, especially for a young vibrant dog who is just too depressed to even lift her head up anymore. Kianna is losing hope.
Professional photographer and Baldwin Park Animal Services volunteer John Hwang took a series of power images capturing the plight of young Kianna, and posted them on his Facebook page. Hwang wrote,
“She stays close to the fence. Waiting for someone to notice her. People walk by. Hardly anyone stops to see her. Hope starts to fade from her eyes. Resigning her fate to never getting out. She has so much love to give, but will she ever get the chance.”
A county Adoption profile for Kianna reads
“My name is Kianna and I’m an approximately 1-year-old female pit bull. I am not yet spayed. I have been at the Baldwin Animal Care Center since October 26, 2016. I am available on October 30, 2016. You can visit me at my temporary home at B317.”
If you or someone you know is interested in giving Kianna the forever home she rightfully deserves, please contact the Baldwin Park Animal Shelter at (626) 962-3577, and reference the shelter ID #A5006160. Additionally, please share this story on Facebook or Twitter, so we are closer to finding Kianna a forever home. We have done it before and can certainly do it again.
